Claudio Pio Liviero started his musical studies at the Gorizia Conservatorium of Music in the class of Bruno Tonazzi. He graduated guitar from the “Benedetto Marcello” State Conservatory of Music in Venice. He improved his ability with great maestros such as Abel Carlevaro, Leo Brouwer, Alberto Ponce and with Francesco Mander for orchestra conducting. Soon he began an intensive and successful concert career with performances in Italy, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Slovenia, Croatia, Spain, Czech Republic and Poland.

He has made tours in North America (Canada) and in Latin America (Argentina, Uruguay). As soloist he played the premiere of the recently discovered Concerto op. 38 for guitar and strings orchestra by Mauro Giuliani. He recorded for various broadcast companies such as RAI (Italian State Broadcasting Company), TeleCapodistria (Slovenia), CFCF and CFMB (Canada) and Radio Clásica (Argentina). Learning from Leo Brouwer and Roland Dyens, inspired him in founding the Gorizia Guitar Orchestra where he acts as a director and conductor. As director of this orchestra, besides winning several international competitions, he gave concerts for important European Guitar festival and published three CDs. He was a jury member in important International Guitar Competitions like Genova, Voghera, Split (Croatia),Brno (Czechia), Murska Sobota (Slovenia).

He is currently director of the Music school of Gorizia, as well as creator and artistic director of the International guitar Festival “Mercatali” of Gorizia, for which he received a silver medal from Giorgio Napolitano President of the Italian Republic. He is also the artistic director of the International Bale-Valle guitar Festival (Croatia). In the year 2016 he received a title “Cavaliere della Repubblica Italiana” by the current President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella for his artistic contribution.
