Srdjan Tosic

Srđan Tošić is one of the most prominent Serbian guitarists and professors of classical guitar. After completing his music studies on the Academy of Music in Zagreb in 1986, where he studied with Ante Čagalj and Darko Petrinjak, he returned to Belgrade and started successful concert career which resulted in many solo recitals, concerts of chamber music, and performances with orchestras. In 1989 he won a prestigious Andres Segovia Prize, awarded to the best competitor in category of Spanish music, on Festival Musica en Compostela, in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. His repertoire is consisted of pieces of different styles and epochs, spreading from Renaissance to contemporary music. He performed in Russia, Bulgaria, Greece, Slovenia and USA. He collaborated with singers, flutists and guitarists. He performed as a soloist with Belgrade Philharmonic and Belgrade Symphony Orchestra, orchestras in cities of Niš, Podgorica, Skoplje and Banja Luka. He participated on many guitar festivals such as Guitar art Festival in Belgrade BEMUS, BELEF, Dani Mokranjca, Novosadsko ljeto, etc. He currently works as a guitar professor on Faculty of Music in Belgrade and University of Arts in Banja Luka.
