Born 1984 in Kempten, Germany, Patrick Vacík started to play the guitar at the age of eleven. In September 2000 he began his studies at the conservatory in Prague, Czech Republic, with VáclavKučera. He completed his studies in 2006 at the conservatory in Pardubice, Czech Republic, in the class of Petr Saidl. From October 2006 onwards he became a student at the Liszt School of Music in Weimar, Germany under Prof. Thomas Müller-Pering, with whom he also studied his Duo Concert Examination, together with MatějFreml, finished in 2013. In addition to that, he received his PhD. at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Prague, Czech Republic.
During his studies Patrick Vacík successfully took part in many national and international competitions (incl. Guitar Art Festival – Belgrade / Serbia, Guitar Competition John W. Duarte – Rust / Austria, Concorso E. Marcatali – Gorizia / Italy, etc.). Beside his solo performance, Patrick Vacík is also actively involved in chamber music. Since 2006 he is a member of the Prague Guitar Quartet.
In 2010 he became guitar professor at the Prague Conservatory.
