Alexander Swete

Alexander Swete was born in Bregenz (Austria). He studied guitar with Konrad Ragossnig at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. He won several prizes on numerous international competitions, including those in Havana, ARD Competion Munich and in Paris. He has performed throughout Europe, United States (New York – Carnegie Hall), Australia, Russia, Cuba, Turkey, Iran, North Africa and on all major guitar festivals, Salzburg Festival, Schubertiade Schwarzenberg and others. His extensive repertoire reaches from the Renaissance to the contemporary music, including all the major concertos for guitar and a large spectrum of chamber music. Alexander Swete teaches at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. Since 2005 he has been a visiting professor at Music academy of University in Sarajevo.
